Stop Smoking Now - Information That Will Stun You!

Do you want to stop smoking NOW?

Are you fed up with putting your stop smoking campaign off from month to month or year to year? If you truly, really, honestly want to quit, today's article in the series will truly blow you away. I doubt you've heard this information before and all my clients find these facts to be more powerful than any other technique I give them.

In other articles published here I've explained the role of the subconscious mind in keeping your habits safe and secure - and that means your smoking habit too. The subconscious mind is only trying to protect you from forgetting something.It has no logic; only patterns.

Well, this particular pattern is supported also by the intake of nicotine which I'm sure you're aware of, but what exactly is its role? I'll do my best to explain.

Firstly you need to know a little about the chemistry of your body in relation to your emotions.

When you're stressed and anxious you get high on adrenalin and to continue that stress for some length of time you produce cortisol too which helps sustain the stressed state.This means if you are constantly agitated, worried or anxious, you'll be producing chemicals that make your brain a bit fuzzy and less able to think and act logically, your health will suffer too because your body isn't good at handling long periods of anxiety.

If you carry on long enough you'll sink into depression.This is a state where your body can no longer sustain the adrenalin and cortisol rush and you feel like want to stay under the duvet all day doing nothing and seeing no-one.

Next you need to know that when you're content, and especially when you're happy, you produce a chemical called Serotonin.

If you spent much of your life in a pretty contented state without too many prolonged periods of stress and anxiety, you would likely be very healthy and long lived because Serotonin is absorbed into our nervous system, helping us to able to easily cope with our problems; it supports the immune system, keeping us physically healthy and it's altogether an essential for our normal daily functioning.You can't be in a state of anxiety at the same time as a state of contentment so you can't be in high adrenalin production and high serotonin production at the same time.

Now, here's the interesting bit.

When you puff on a cigarette - 10 times per smoke accounts for 200 puffs a day in a 20-a-day smoker - the nicotine produces a chemical that acts like serotonin in that you get a feeling of "ah, that's better". You know that feeling if you're a smoker. It's as if that first puff cleared away some of your stress. And it did. For about 6 seconds. The false serotonin only lasts 6 seconds and that's why you need another puff to feel better again.

Not only that, but each puff you take causes your physical body to go into a state of anxiety whilst it's trying to get rid of the poison you just ingested, so that raises your anxiety levels and there's another reason why you want another puff.

So: you puff; you feel better but only for 6 seconds so you want another puff; your body is poisoned and stressed which also causes you to keep puffing. Mad isn't it. What chance have you got to stop smoking now

And there's another problem.

When your mind registers that false serotonin, it won't produce the real Serotonin at the same time because it believes you've already got it via the cigarette! So now you need to smoke even more because you just lowered your serotonin and raised your anxiety... it's like being on a hamster wheel and you can't get off.

's self-defeating and self-sustaining and you're filling the government's coffers and the cigarette company's bank accounts whilst your money is being burned away and you feel helpless.

Art Therapy to Create What You Desire 2010

I just so love and adore the new year. If you know me then you have heard me say, " you get a do-over". A do-over is a word we used as a kid. If you missed the ball while trying to hit it you got another chance. It didn't count, you get to call a do-over, and you get to do it again. I love kids because they really understand do-overs. You could spend half an hour pitching the ball and they call do-overs until they get it. That's pretty smart, asking for what you need. So I adore the new year, because it's like a natural do-over.

However, do we practice do-overs in our lives? Many of us practice "do-agains" instead. I looked back at my yearly journal entries and see many of the same goals, be more compassionate with my family, loose 10 lbs, etc. The resolutions are great until someone in my family does something and I get so frustrated or I sign-up to get 8 boxes of girl scout cookies, then I'm face with rewriting the same things next year. Does this sound familiar?

So I began to wonder why some really big things I set out to accomplish, like writing my book, happen and why other less difficult things don't happen. What I found was I needed some concrete outcomes, steps to take to get there, and supports around me to help me make the changes. Even bigger than action steps is the commitment I made to the change and how I decided to feel about it.

If there is specific area in your life that you are longing to transform allow yourself to focus on that one thing. Here's where the do-over comes in handy. You can change the way you think and feel about this by using your creative possibilities thinking. So identify the problem (one is enough), be very specific and clear what it is. Now go grab some art supplies, magazines, chalks, oil paster, markers, paint, whatever you have on hand. Sit with this problem and ask how would I be different if this problem was resolved, what would I be doing, thinking, or feeling? Allow yourself to use the art materials to express how different your life would feel and be if this was no longer an issue. This is your do-over. This is your map to make changes.

Green tea is believed to be in use as a medicine for at least 4000 years in china. It is also believed that green tea lowers the cholesterol levels by increasing the good cholesterol and decreasing the bad cholesterol. Green tea is rich in antioxidant called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) .It destroys cancer cells and also inhibits the growth of cancer cells. Green tea also destroys bacteria thus preventing tooth decay. Researchers have also found that green tea even helps dieters. The leaves of green tea can also be used for cooking. The leftover leaves can be used as manure for garden plants to grow better. The ingredient present in green tea is polyphenol. It is the most effective antioxidant. It is present in higher amount in green tea than in black tea.
The basic difference between green tea and other teas like oolong and black tea is that while the latter come from the leaves of camellia simens plant, green tea is processed in a different way. Green tea leaves are steamed which prevents the EGCG, a power antioxidant, from being oxidized. In contrast, black and oolong leaves are made from fermented leaves and so EGCG is converted into other compounds, which are effective in preventing and fighting various diseases.

Clinical trials indicate that green tea raises metabolic rates and speeds up fat oxidation. Green tea also raises thermo genesis (the rate at which calories are burnt) and hence increases energy expenditure. Green tea also increases endurance in exercise.
Drinking green tea has a whole lot of benefits like fighting against cancer, stabilizing diabetes, helping in weight loss, slowing the ageing process and helping digestion. Green tea also enhances immunity in our body. About four cups of green tea each day provides 300 to 400 mg of polyphenols, which help in antioxidant activity. All types of cancer like stomach, lungs, breast, liver, colon and rectal can be prevented by green tea.

Green tea prevents cholesterol from being absorbed by the digestive tract. This in effect means that even if the fat is taken, the body does not absorb it.
